ART, DESIGN AND LUXURY IN A PILOT FLAT

July 17th, 2019

The Bryant is the most recent David Chipperfield building in Manhattan that is about to be completed, but from which we have already been able to know we have already completely fallen in love with its design and furniture. To decorate this luxurious two-bedroom apartment, Standard Arts curators selected furniture and artwork from the Objects of Common Interest studio. Throughout the 129 square meters we can find furniture and decorative items from different contemporary artists based in the United States, such as Anne Deleporte, Ana Lucia Cano, GT Pellizzi, Gustavo Prado or Sei Smith. The careful architectural design (with a facade covered with terrazzo panels) and, of course, the sophisticated interior design of David Chipperfield, is the ideal backdrop for this exhibition of works of art and contemporary design, curated through an unconventional approach.

Adhering to the conditions of the Landmarks Preservation Commission, the façade offers a contemporary take on the architecture of historic buildings nearby. DCA matched the concrete aggregate to the stone varieties from the surrounding landmark buildings.
