New York is famous for many things—parks, squares, shops, landmarks, etc. Pools? Not so much. That's more of a Miami thing.
Although there's still a Northeast chill in the Manhattan air, it doesn't mean all New Yorkers are fish out of water. Pool access for residents of luxury condos is just an elevator ride away, no matter the season. Let's take a dip in some of their architecturally unique pools—a.k.a. cool pools.

88&90 Lexington: This reimagined NoMadpost-war building was modernized by Workshop/APD which includes a two-lane L-shaped indoor pool with deep and shallow ends, adjacent hot tub, ample windows which invites natural light, and a unique mosaic ceiling to admire during your backstroke.
VUW Studio
Jardim: Portuguese for “garden,” Brazilian architect Isay Weinfeld’s Jardim (two 11-story towers in West Chelsea) displays a canopy of native evergreens, flowering trees and a serene pool surrounded by terrazzo floors and warm reclaimed old-growth pine walls which open up to the courtyard gardens via staggered skylights that flood the space.

One Seaport: Designed by Hill West Architects, One Seaport offers residents The Water Club—a luxurious pool and hydrotherapy experience spanning the 13th floor. Along with water activities for adults and kids, it boasts 360-degree views of the East River, New York harbor and landmarks like the Statue of Liberty so residents feel free.

American Copper Buildings: These under-construction angular, copper-clad towers along the Manhattan’s East River will be conjoined by a three-story skybridge where residents can swim across the 75-foot lap pool from one tower to the next while basking in the sun via giant glass walls with panoramic city and water views.

11 Beach Street: Danish architect Thomas Juul-Hansen designed subterranean spas at each of the his spectacular townhouses at 11 Beach Street. The tranquil private spas include 50-foot stainless steel serenity pools with invisible glass walls amid floor-to-ceiling imported stone tiles and soothing custom lighting—far from the city chaos.

507 West Chelsea: This sculpted glass tower in the shadow of the High Line showcases a gorgeous Scandinavian-inspired swimming pool that exudes understated elegance—with its oversized custom lighting, skylight, decorative columns amid rich wood ceiling and flooring, and plush poolside seating.

135 West 52nd Street: This luxurious glass tower exhibits a 75-foot shimmering oasis pool fit for a pharaoh. The tranquil lap pool dazzles with custom mosaic tile, marble and integrated seating alcoves—all of which recall a picturesque, golden Egyptian tomb at Luxor, sans sarcophagi. For residents, the treasure is the pool.
