These are the High Line’s hottest new buildings

April 10th, 2019

Scandinavian superstar Bjarke Ingels’ latest New York project, the XI, just topped out at 76 11th Ave. Its twin twisting towers offer 236 units and views over the High Line and Hudson River. “With its punched windows and gridded structural façade, the XI echoes the pragmatic rationality of the neighborhood’s historic warehouses, while its sculptural geometry gives it a kinship to the local arts community,” Ingels says. No two units are alike in the 36-story project (opening in 2020), but the standout is definitely the 5,663-square-foot, five-bedroom, five-bathroom penthouse, asking $28 million. Spanning a southwest corner with a 239-square-foot covered terrace, it sits above a new Six Senses New York Hotel, which emphasizes sustainability and wellness amenities.
