The XI, BIG’s latest project in West Chelsea, has just topped off construction. Two twisting structures react to one another as they move upward, opening up expansive views in the 236 luxury residences. The floor Ingels is looking out from has been enclosed in glass ahead of a party for the upcoming Six Senses hotel, the luxury brand’s first U.S. location, which will occupy several floors of the building. “All of the units have either views of the High Line or of the river,” Ingels says. “I would say two thirds of them have both.”
